What techniques are being employed by the corporate organizations for stress management of their employees, and are they really beneficial and what extent are they successful in implementing these techniques?

As I'm not easily stressed, and due to training and proper nutrition I'm even better able to handle stress. However for those at my work who are not of the same mind set as I am we have stress management courses etc offered and if those don't work our contract also has a clause for us to see counsellors etc at no cost to the staff.

Couple of ways to go, depending on the stressor. When people bring stress from home or everyday life to work, having employee assistance available in the form of individual counseling is often best. Many companies hire a couselor or counseling group that specializes in employee assistance. They will do some counseling, but also are well connected in the community so they can evaluate a case and refer them to the best, most specific resource for the individual's needs. When the job itself is the source of the stress, it affects everyone in the department. In this case, getting the department together for group excersises can promote cooperation and understanding between individuals. In stressful work environs, the workers need to be able to trust each other and vent their frustrations and tensions to each other.

Personally, I go to the gym or just take a baseball bat and beat the source of my stress to smithereens.

The major techniques used by CEO Wellness are:
Wellness Audits before implementation: Implementing changes/adjustments both active (what can be easily seen) and passive (what is not obvious) can achieve far reaching positive benefits.  Implementation without hard information is unlikely to achieve the desired results. By utilizing the Wellness audit, based on the information from the site inspection and other forms of data, there will be areas that “stand out,” and this will dictate what implementation(s) will have the greatest impact. The level of success of ANY wellness program depends upon the motivation of employee enrollment, as well as education and training imparted to the employees before implementing the program. CEO wellness is a professional agency specializing in this field. To find out more: http://ceowellness.com/ . This thread has been used by the originator to set up an advertisement for "CEO Wellness" or whatever it is. A total waste of our time and theirs.

Like a previous poster mentioned, a good diet and working out helps one to naturally fight stress. Also yoga is a great way to help to learn how to deal with stress in a healthy way. It teaches you deep breathing techniques that come in handy when your boss is laying into you. I also like to take a walk or go hiking or fishing to relieve stress.
