First off I'd like to Happy New Year to everyone. I haven;t been on here in forever. I was having lower right abdominal fullness feelings. So I went to a general physician and he narrowed it down to being by ascending and traverse colon being blocked up, by x-ray. So just to be careful i went to a GI doc that my mom works for (she's a nurse) and she did some more tests and told me to keep eating a high fiber diet while taking stool softeners. I'm going to get blood work done today to see what that tells. If it still feels like this for too long I ave to get a colonoscopy, FUN!! But,the thing she was most concerned with is my blood pressure. It was 130/90 the past 4 times I had it taken. She said for someone who eats like I do and who is as athletic as I am that's way to high. She said my 90 should be a 70 for sure. I'm just wondering if its supplements I've taken in the past. I swear my BP was always good until I started taking creatine. Does anyone else on here have any of these problems or have something to share.

I don't know of any case where creatine caused high blood pressure, but I haven't researched it. I know it doesn't me. Also, creatine's effects are transient. If It did cause your blood pressure to spike, it should go back down pretty quick once you stop it.I've always been fortunate with my BP. It stayed in the normal range even when I was pretty seriously jacked up.

Well, one thing you have to look at also is your eating habits. If you are training and taking in creatine, one would assume that you are bulking, further assuming that you are eating to get big. Meaning more red meat, more chicken, which probably means more salt or more fat supps.
Seeing you gave us so little to work with, I had to assume all the above. If my statements above are all correct, check your food intake in additions to salts and other things to include weight gain.

Your BP could be from a number of issues and one could just be from the fact that you're going through a stressfull condition and just being the Dr.s office is enough for many people to have elevated BP. If they're concerned with it then get them to put you on a 24 hour monitor, and this will give a very accurate reading.
Oh and just for the record I use creatine in the off season as well as pre-contest.

As PS said it could be the stress of Doc office. My blood pressure in High School/College was ALWAYS elevated in an office visit. usually high 140's even though I ate pretty healthy and was in sports year round. Take it anywhere else but the Dr office and back down in 100-110 range. I agree with PS. get it checked outside of DR office and/or monitored and you should see your true normal BP.

Well, high blood pressure does happen for a lot of reasons.
Please send me a list of the supplements you're taking to know if they have something to do with your BP. As P.S. says, stress is a mayor factor, specially if a colonoscopy is taking place, for sure. You should measure your BP twice a days for 7-10 days in order to have a real diagnosis. Do so and post them here, and we might be able to help you in some way...
Cheers,
Camilo

Hi theo. 130/90 ain't all that bad bro! Had my stuff checked today and i stood at 140/80...and that's down from 220/160...so go figure! Creatine has little to do with a persons bp level, though it will show in a liver value as/per "creatinine levels" (alot of red meat consumption will give the same elevated levels though). Not really a point of much concern unless you are having kidney values as well. As far as diet goes...yours is remarkable! Don't change it! Eat a few more "RAW" veggies only per day...less fruit. HEY! Lets hook up and train again soon! Keep on keepin' on bro! Jack T.
