Yeah, yeah, I hear ya p.s.! I know I need to get off my ass and be on more, BUT I am a busy mother!

MnB you look like you had a great time! I'll be curious as to how the trip goes to see if its a viable move? Also, like everyone has said, you are a very important part of Hardcore, and have been here for several years. Your info, along with others here, are priceless and we couldnt do it without peeps like yourself. To call yourself a phony or washed up, or whatever bullshit you said is just that, bullshit. Dont sell yourself short in any way bro. Just cause you cant train at 110% intensity or at the same levels you did in the past doesnt take away from the character and integrity you possess bro.

Stay strong and keep focused, and keep in contact with your Hardcore Brothers and Sisters!

Respect,

I'll be here. Your support and encouragement are greatly appreciated. More than you can imagine. To have the respect of my peers is invaluable. So, I'll just keep doing dips on my walker.
My last show, one of the guys in my over 50 group posed to a George Jones hit.....

I don't need your rockin' chair
your Geritol and your Medicare
I still got neon in my veins
This grey hair don't mean a thing
I'll do my rockin' on the stage
Can't keep this possum in a cage
My body's old but it ain't impaired
I don't need your rockin' chair!

Heck ya M&B looks like you had a killer time.  I know you have definitely put out some high quality info and opinions here.  Just because the body may not be willing doesn't mean the mind has lost it.  I know myself and many others certainly respect your opinion.

So, I'll just keep doing dips on my walker.

At least you can do your dips!  Grin

Thanks, Woodard. I am going to continue to do as much as I can for as long as I can. I'm just putting more priority now on feeling good most of the time and being in much less pain.
as much as I'll miss heavy lifting, I want to be able to go places, do things..... If my back, knees, and shoulders stay hurting bad all the time, I can't keep up with my wife.....

MnB like you I've had to revamp my training to accomodate certain issues with my joints etc, but what I've found is that with lighter weights (still far heavier than what most people use) and more focused contractions my physique looks as big as ever but with far better overall developement. In fact my arms and particularly my triceps are the best they've ever been, so lose the "poor me I can't lift heavy attitude" and get in the gym and pound the reps.

As a couple of examples look at guys like Albert Beckles, Matt Mendenhall, Sergio, John Defendis, Lee Haney, Tony Freeman etc (it's a very long list) all of them use/used what I would consider to be light weights and yet all of them had/have GREAT physiques. Hmmmm I wonder if maybe (just maybe) they were on to something!! So quit whinning and relearn how to train the muscle and not the ego, and maybe you'll make better gains than ever before even at this stage in life.
