Had a blast. Only got online once or twice in the last 10 days or so. Fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoe hiking (a good workout at 10,000 ft + elevation). No skiing with my knees. Found a great chef who sauteed some of that trout for us with a lobster sauce and served it with a nice coconut/pineapple rice pilaf kind of dish. All in all, a great trip. Laura wants us to move out there... Hmmmmmm.... Another interesting thing about the area is that most of the people are fit. You just don't see obese people. Very few are even somewhat overweight.

It is nice to be around people that are generally fit and in shape, but would you be able to find work there if you two did move?

I've already been looking into that and it apears it would be relatively easy. There are mental health/addiction opportunities there and I could also get back into personal training (not my first choice) My wife's internet business is quite portable, and we are fortunate enough that I wouldn't need to make a lot of money. I really would need to work some to supplement the income and have benefits like health insurance.

Well then what's stopping you? If this is what you two want then get the ball rolling.....

Laura has a trip planned to go out for a couple of weeks at the end of May and check into the availablity of housing/office space, cost of living, get to know some local folks, and get a general feel of what life there is like when not on vacation. We are serious about moving, but we will do our homework. I'm looking into two jobs so far... one is admissions coordinator for Sierra Recovery Center, the other is Fitness Instructor at the Incline Village Recreation Center. The admissions job pays a lot better, but the Fitness gig would be very low stress for me and it's a city government run place that offers excellent health insurance and retirement benefits. I can't firm anything up yet, because it's going to take a while to get things in place to move.

Actually, they are Makinaw trout, a variety of lake trout. They do resemble walleye quite a bit, and taste maybe even better. The dorsal fin is where you can tell. Coloration and general body shape is the same.
I haven't been on as much in recent months because I feel like a phony. The injuries and lack of the best supplemention have me reduced to a size and strength level only slightly better than any other guy in his 50's who keeps himself trim. I have to accept to a degree that the good old days are gone, but I do still train on a proper schedule. Also, I go through periods where I'll snatch myself up and hit it hard again. I may be weak, but I won't be a wuss. I just defer more to the people who still play this game a a high level. I'll always be around, looking in, throwing in a tidbit of advice or opinion when I think it may be helpful.

Hey just 'cause you've dialed the training back a bit doesn't make you a phoney and your years of experience are a wealth of info for anyone wanting help in our sport. Just 'cause guys like Charles Glass, Bill Pearl, Milos Sarceve etc don't compete anymore does not make thier advice any less usefull/helpfull, and this applies to you as well!

Hell f@cking yeah, boy! I have been a member of this board just short of your term. And you have given me information on certain things that I could not have obtained anywhere else! True that! I know, because I am ALL over the web bro! Don't ever sell yourself short!! There are 3 cogs on this board...information that you will NOT find on any other board (excpt. CJM and you know why) M&B, p,s., and QOD. Hell, these 3 personna's tell it like it IS! So don't even think of retiring off of this board my man! Not gonna let it happen...! Not just yet! Like my new avatar? It's rite up in your face ...THAT'S what you want to keep training for. Can you smell what Jack Tragic is cookin' ?

Hell, they might be mutated flounders... lol. Who cares. Deeee-licious. Fun to catch, too. Who said anything about retiring? I just want to be honest. I don't want people to think I'm still a hoss. I know I can still contribute. I still will. Thanks, guys, for your support. Yesss... cool avatar. Ain't too far gone to appreciate that. Far from it.

IMO there's 4 coggs to this board and CJM and if HC would get on here more often and quit pining over his love life there would be 5. Oh and YA BABY that's one nice bit 'O booty ya got there!! Oh and that brings me to the question of why there hasn't been any recent additions to the ASS thread?!?!
