This last New Years Eve, we went out and did the family thing, First, dinner at one of the Japanese restraunts where they cook your food for you on the grill that your group is sitting around. Very fun, lame jokes and all. Next, we, as a familial group, went bowling..... and this is where things started going down hill. As I'm sure that most of us (you) have gone bowling, we all know that a certain amount of flexability is needed..... and I seem to have lost it. I used to bowl quite a bit up to about age 35.... I stretch things out pretty well, and throw a pretty good hook on the ball.
But... I'm NOT 35 any longer, nor do I bowl on a regular basis, but I kinda forget that, ya know, getting swept up in the family outing!
So anyway, after realizing that I just am not going to stretch out like normal, I compensate....... I compensate for the lack of elacticity, and I compensate for the extra few pounds that I packed on the last...... 6 or 8 holiday seasons. I compensate, and still get a pretty good hook goin'.
Within a half an hour of leaving the bowling alley, I realize that I've got a new pain. Front right shoulder, right where it meets the collar bone. Crap! I did the cold/ heat thing, and have rubbed a couple of homeopathic ointments on it. It does seem to be getting better, I hit chest and triceps this morning and my shoulder didn't bother me. Of course, I didn't attempt any incline movements, and I'll just work around the area for the next week or so, hoping that it'll heal up.
Injuries suck.
