Hi,
Well I'm looking for some help on my diet guys & gals. I'm 5'8" and 180lbs right now. Basically if anyone could look over this thread and give me any ideas on my diet that would be great. It's not been that briliant recently, but I don't think it's been terrible. I havn't been eating crap but there is a huge room for improvement and I do realise that.

I have the money to buy good foods and normally buy a large amount of chicken breast each week and I do like fish but would need some ideas on how you would cook it?

I give myself time to prepare the next days food the night before.

I wake at 0800 and have a shake with 50g Whey and 100g Oats.

At 11 - 11:30 I have a chicken sandwich with 200g of chicken spread across 4 slices of wholemeal bread. These are about 15g carbs per slice.

At 1400-1430 I have the same as above.

At 1700 - 1730 I have just in from work and have a protein shake with 50g whey and 100g oats.

Pre-workout @ 1930 I have 40-50g Dextrose 25g Whey. I also take 10g BCAA with 15g Luecine on top.

Post-workout @ 2100 I have another 40-50g Dextrose with 25g Whey & 5g CEE.

22:00 I have 200g Chicken Breast, 400g Potato and a helping of peas.

Before bed, what would be a good idea? I don't currently have anything.

I want to add some fruit and more veg to my diet and I know I need to add more EFAs to my diet, would this be fine in the form of Flax oil?

I do eat more than that it's just that's very simple for me to make. The 2200 meal changes around with fish and potatos, chicken and rice and steak.

What would your impressions of that diet be?

I'm not sure of the calorific content but i would hazard a guess at about 2200-2500.

Thanks all Smiley

Looks good to me. You can throw a little flax oil in any of your shakes, and anytime is a good time to munch a carrot or some raw broccoli. Fruit is good for you... eat it at a morning meal or two. Remember that it is a simple carb, meaning sugar.

I agree with MnB as well. However you could have a salad at your evening meal and a protein and flax shake before bed. Eat the fruit either in the AM or post workout so that it's utilized properly.

Great thanks guys Smiley

How much flax would you recommend adding into the pre-bed shake? 5-10ml?

2 tablespoons should do the trick.

Great thanks.

What's your views on eating carbs late in the evenings? Problematic?

Depends on where you are as far as being lean is concerned. If you still need to lose fat, no carbs late. If you are not trying to lose, it can be OK but stick to low GI carbs, no sugars.
