Lifting and Cardio in the same session, should I protein up before or after the workout?

My schedule is:

0730 wake up
0745 Protein shake (option #1)
0810 in the gym (30 minute 1 bp lifting & 45 min cardio)
0945 protein shake (option #2)

or should I continue to do one before and after, and if so would this affect my cardio fat burning process more than conducting cardio on an empty stomach?

Continue with both shakes, as the cardio done post workout will have a similar effect as doing AM cardio on an empty stomach.

is the morning shake not a waste since his body will just use that protein for energy during the workout?

No. One is in a state of fasting upon waking and as such the shake he has will be immediatly put to use as will the post workout shake.

Coneytt IMO you need to put out more effort when lifting and only do enough cardio to assist in fat loss/raised metabolism. All things being equal a hard workout will cause a greater metabolic stimulus than cardio ever could.
