Hey P.S.... what , precisely, IS Boxing Day?
To my understanding it was a British tradition of the wealthy types giving food (left over Xmas dinner etc) to the poor/less fortunate the day after Xmas and of course in the 18th century a box would have been used. Thus boxing day was created, now of course it's being used as a way to sell off out of date items or older stock, and if done properly then people 'believe" that they are getting a great deal on something that they "must have"!!!

Just like Xmas I don't buy into boxing day sales either! What a bullshit couple of "holidays" designed to rape the people of money that most can't afford to spend in the first place. Damn how I dispise these types of "holidays" (I include valentines day in this pile of BS as well!)!!!!!!!!

Indeed you are right! Christmas has become WAY too commercial (mainly in the States). People are so gullable and buy into the craze and over-do the whole idea of "gift giving"! I have had past experiences of breaking-up fistfights in department stores during this time of year because some "seasonal" shoppers loose all respect for anyone , including themselves! And fight over sale items, or "1 of a kinds", or even parking spaces in the store lots! Zealots!
