NYC Cops Investigated During Illegal Steroid Ring Raids


 
The NYPD is investigating six police officers suspected of trying to improperly obtain steroids.

According to WNBC, the NYPD and State Health department have been raiding Brooklyn pharmacies - and the NYPD's Internal Affairs has now turned an eye on its own.

The NYPD's Paul Browne says that news reports that dozens of officers were being investigated were "wildly distorted and exaggerated." He does not believe the suspects to be arrested; rather they will face disciplinary action. The cops were apparently using the steroids for bodybuilding.

In the meantime, the drug raids have centered around a pharmacy in Bay Ridge called Lowen's.
About $8 million of steroids and human growth hormone were found, and at least some were from China.

The drug ring may have ties to a Florida-based pharmacy that the Albany County DA's office has been investigating; the Post reports that "several professional athletes...including Met relief pitcher Scott Schoeneweis and St. Louis Cardinal slugger Rick Ankiel" (who have not been charged) are linked to this probe.

The plot further thickens because a co-owner of Lowen's is Julius Nasso Jr., whose father, Julius Nasso Sr., is a film producer who conspired with the Gambino crime family to extort millions from Steven Seagal (Nasso Sr. served a year in prison). Nasso Sr. founded the Universal Marine Medical Supply Company and is also a pharmacist.

And the Daily News reports that Tony Sirico, of Paulie Walnuts on The Sopranos fame, goes to Lowen's!

If I remember right, Ronnie was a cop in the state of Texas... but he "retired" 4 or 5 years ago.
I asked my brother, who is a police sgt. in San Antonio, about how Ronnie could justify himself
concerning the whole steriod thing. Their manditory drug tests are for narcotics..... not anobolics.
We decided that if youe find a doctor to write you some script..... you were "legal".

And who gives a rats ass if cops use gear? Shit I would think that having cops in prime physical condition would be of the utmost importance, and as the use of gear is soooo wide spread in all walks of life I would think that it only makes sense that cops use whatever they can to level the playing field, and if they compete then it makes even more sense.

As far as Ronnie goes how would he ever be Mr Olympia without gear? IMO we are surrounded by complete idiots who are in charge of law enforcement, and in time they are gonna find that there are soooo many people IE solid tax paying citizens that use AAS etc that hopefully this whole witch hunt will be dropped. I mean really why put otherwise law abiding citizens in jail? For what wanting to improve their physiques? Shit if that's the case then anyone who has had plastic surgery to improve their looks should also be arrested as well as their Dr's/surgeons. Is it really ethical to have people change their appearance with tummy tucks, lipo suction, implants throughout the the body, with dangerous surgery just so that that they are happier with their bodies when chances are what they wanted could have been achieved through hard work and a diet?....NO, so get off the steroid witch hunt and leave us alone or even better make them legal for Dr's to prescribe.

I, personally, have no issues with people using gear. Use is, I'm sure, quite widespread....
Hell, the PGA is going to start testing pro golfers.

My question to my brother was only to get his opinion on the conflicting issues of pro BB's
who are cops, using a "controlled" substance. As I said, if ya got script.... let 'er rip!

The only people on a steriod witch hunt are those on the right... AND the left, who are out to protect us from ourselves.
They preach personal responsibility while taking it away from us.

Ya just gotta love BIG BROTHER don't ya and the assholes who are a part of the whole control the populace propaganda BS, as well as create the frivolus laws that just waste tax money. Shit they want the average person to believe that AAS is akin to heroin or crystal meth, and this is very much the same BS/propaganda that they used in the 30s with regards to marijuana (Reefer Madness) and as I've seen the way that the 30s media delt with pot I can tell you that it almost word for word the same as they are currently doing with AAS.

Cops?  Doing Steroids?  Nah, never! That doesn't happen.  Yeah, right.  Half of the patrol cops in the USA are juicing and that's probably a conservative number.
