I'm reposting this from the other Hardcore forum as per Jack Tragic's request.
Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I posted here, some of you old-timers may remember me! I've been in touch with Queenie the whole time, and Hardcore recently - thanks to both of you (and ps) for your help and advice during my contest prep. Anyway, I competed in the Ontario Provincial championships last month and got third place in the Master's, so I qualified for the Nationals! I was really happy with my placing, here's some pics from the show.

I could use a chest! I just picked up a nearly-new Hammer Strength incline press CHEAP so hopefully doing a second chest workout at home will improve my weakest part. I also got a ham curl machine and seated calf raise to hit my other weakest links. And it's all going on Jelly's wellness account at work! Bonus.

As I said before you're a shredded prick for sure!!! All in all your pecs aint all that bad and they look great in your side chest, as they really stand up and are ripped as well. Ya your hammies need a bit more work but then where would all the fun be if one was a complete package?
I would suggest though that on your side tricep as well as your side chest that you lean slightly more towards the judges as you lose all your serratus etc when you stand up as straight as you did in the pics you posted. Just crunch them a bit to bring them out and it'll make that side tricep even more impressive than it already is.
Oh and say hi to that beautiful gal of yours for us, or even better get her back on the board(s).

Adam, thanx for puttin' your pics up over here at HCBB.net as per my request. You look really great man! You've put on some quality thickness since your last posted pic/comp. Props all around man! Nice back/delt/dbbl bi shot, great obliques and serratus! I think that you did very well with the 3rd place slot as you were up against some other very quality bros. I agree w/ p.s. on your pecs though. As you know...it's a difficult battle. ie; we try to increase our pec size, but our front delts also share the growth. And so to counter-act THAT, we train our medial and rear delts to match. But HEY...then we have to bring up our bi's and tri's so they fit in, and then the lat spread has to be widened, and then we need more quad sweep as to offset the lat spread...and on and on,.. I have had some good results with pre-exhausting the pecs or "super-setting" them as to burn them before the delts kick in.

I agree with JT as I always pre-exhaust my pecs with pec dec prior to any type of pressing, as this does help in stimulating the pecs and also warms up my shoulders a bit (my right shoulder is...well....less than perfect, and causes me pain on a very regular basis).

Thanks for the tips Jack and p.s., I'm going to start pre-exhausting my pecs as you both recommend, as my right shoulder is absolutely buggered. I'm still working on my posing too, it was a lot better this time than the last show but needs improvement! I'll definitely try to hit the serratus in those side shots.

Great machine! I use this alot! Full range of movement. Full stretch throughout! I alternate this and the Smith Machine for incline benches. I love just picking and choosing what my target area will be on each set (on the fly) Upper, lower or mid pec...heck, I can even over-stress the p/d tie-in on this machine! Try doing THAT with free weights !!
