Az to the grass! I'm not flexible or strong enough in the legs for that yet. I'm still muscling around this 315 pound frame. Maybe light weight on a smith machine I could pull that off. (Something to think about for leg day tomorrow)..

Start with the bar if ya have to and work up from there, but full range is the way to go (no bouncing outta the hole though!). Get a milk crate if you need to learn depth. I've used the milk crate to teach people how to squat and I use it myself at times if my form starts to break down a bit. Just squat down to where your ass touches the crate and then power the weight/bar back up (do not lock out at the top!) and keep the reps at about 12 IE 5 sets of 12 reps and your legs will be screaming (as will your lungs!!).

Hey Buddy,

Not sure just yet, I will probably do one or two this year. DQ is on the fence and is leaning towards not doing one.

Front squats are great but so are high bar squats (ass to the grass) to build full sized wheels.

Agreed, I have been an advocate of full range of motion squats as long as you can handle it, only work with weight your joints and back can handle, and THEN progress the weight. Many will bash them, but anybody that does them for any length of time will see the benefit.

I think DQ is making the right move as the extra time will allow her to fill out that frame of hers for her next show.

definately! 2 or 3 different movements for the quads at almost each workout. Full range at warmup with a pause at low and high (never lock out). As I go heavier, i'll change the range of motion (it's automatic as your body will let you know when it's time!) I don't use a milk crate (too low for my taste w/ heavy weight./ Too much stress on the lower back and this also brings your hams and hips into play here), I DO use a bench for anything over 450 lbs. for reps.

Unfortunately what happened was that my weight has been at somewhat of a stand still.  I will probably diet down with HC and do what we do just to see what happens.  I really want to do it because I love the stage but I don't want to walk up there smaller or worse than I was last year.

However if you happen to lean out even more (than you were at the last show) when dieting with HC then why not compete? The leaner you get (that's leaner not loss of muscle) the freakier you'll look on stage.
