I would like to know your opinion on junk days.
Everyone i have spoken to highly recommends having a proper junk day once a week when cutting
BUT
Do you think a junk day would also benifit someone who was doing a clean bulk without excessive carbs??
by clean i mean all food sources from whole, natural foods - no shit at all! no sweet stuff, no skipping etc
The way i figure is this - i consider eating 2 grms carbs per 1lb lean body mass relatively low, but i think you can still grow on this without putting on excessive fat as long as your protein intake is around 2 - 2.5 grms per 1lb lbm. The resaon for a junk day when cutting is too keep your metabolism high and too stop your body adapting to your cutting diet etc. So surely if your body can adapt to a low carb intake, it can also adapt to the aformentioned clean bulk diet, therefore a junk day would have the same positive effect for growing as it does for cutting?
