Well I'm preparing to start the cut within the next couple of weeks, and basically would like to know how I'd roughly work out my RMR or basically how many calories I'm going to need simply to maintain and then obviously how many to cut.

I'm 170lbs right now and am not particulary active apart from weight training 5 times a week, maybe playing football(soccer) once a week and that's about it whilst I'm in between jobs.

Any help on this one would be excellent, once I've done my first cut it should be much easier next time Smiley
I suggest that you start a diet journal and post your exact diet that you are currently following, and the exact goals that you have for the upcoming diet. However expect that you will lose weight and in clothes you will look smaller when dieted down.

Personally Beef I would suggest that you not diet at this time as you only have 11 months lifting under your belt and instead just clean up your current diet. We of course can also help in making your current diet more effective.

there is no fat on u atm to worth cutting down, just keep training and lifting hard, eat a bit cleaner and u might find u get bigger/leaner

Well at this time I'm eating roughly 300-350g Protein a day, 250-300g carbs a day and about 40-50g Fat.

Does that look like a good balance or could I drop the carbs down to 200g and still get away with it?

I'm really not a huge carb fan, so IMO you could cut carbs back to 100 grams, but always make sure that you maintain your overall cals by replacing those carb cals with protein cals and some EFA cals as well.

If one has a very physical job as well as doing cardio and intense weight traqining then one could take in more carbs as well as cals to make up for the extra energy expended. I've had to increase QODs carb intake due to her new job which is VERY physical (unlike her old job), so rather than the 30-50 grams per day she used to get she now gets to enjoy about 100-150 grams (at this time!).

4 cals for 1 gram of carbs or protein (thi is why it's easy to replace cabs with protein as they have the same cals per gram), and 9 cals in a gram of fat.
