I remember a friend of mine telling me about this blood type diet quite a few years ago, and even with my (at the time, late 80's/early 90s) minimal knowledge of nutrition this diet made no sense to me. IMO most people just don't apply common sense when reading about the latest diet, supplement etc.

Personally I think Atkins, and Gironda had a better handle on how to diet than most other diet guru's combined, and IMO this is due to the fact that neither one of them appeared to be in it for money just the cause of assisting others. In fact Vince was in the fitness game to help others, but you did as he said or ya got the boot, and he was quite successfull with the great BBs he helped create.

Most people are still on the quest for the diet that works without having to do anything or else they find crazy excuses why a diet didn't work.  Mind you, most of them never actually follow the diet for more than a week it seems before stating that it doesn't work then buying another book, etc.

In my experience, just about any diet will work for general weight loss if you follow it and add daily weights and cardio.  Some are better nutritionally than others.  What is missing from most of these published diets is will-power and discipline from the reader of the diet.  Sitting on the couch and reading a diet book does nothing except make the author richer. The Blood Type Diet comes in two books (Diet and Recipes) and neither is cheap (I worked for awhile in a bookstore).  Most of these guys are smart now and publish their program in one book and the recipes in another----so each "dieter" could be spending as much as $70.
