All these years that I've been doing side lateral raises, I do them out wide at the top. While at the top, I try to hold my thumbs lower that my pinkies. and yes, my elbows are bent , a little bit.
Now, while looking at the latest Flex magazine, in an article about Johnnie Jackson delt training titled "The Jackson 5", on page 172, he shows how he does the aforementioned side lateral raises.
Frankly, to me, he looks like he's doing upright rows...... with dumbells.

Admittedly, when you look at him, and(if you could) look at me, you would certainly draw the conclusion that he knows what he's doing..... and maybe i don't. But it just doesn't look right.
